Karen conducted the William Bridges Workshops “Individual Transition in Organizations” three times for the young men transitioning out of the seminary into ministry, and once for all the priests of the Archdiocese of Louisville. These workshops are extremely helpful because priests go through many personal and organizational transitions in their lifetimes – often without awareness, support or guidance. One bishop described leaving the seminary as, “Having all your IVs pulled out at once.” Once a priest, they move regularly from one setting to another – rural, urban, inner city, specialized ministry and finally into retirement.
